Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) is an anionic surfactant that is widely used as an active ingredient in synthetic detergent formulations. Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) can cause health problems to humans, such as irritation of the skin, the cause of cataracts in adult eyes. In this research, the processing of Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) using TiO2- chitosan composites as photocatalyst. This study aims to determine the optimum dose of TiO2-chitosan for photocatalyst use in linear degradation of alkylbenzene sulphonate (LAS) and study the effect of pH in the process of degradation of linear alkylbenzene sulphonate (LAS) by using TiO2-chitosan composites as photocatalysts. The results showed that the optimal dosage for TiO2-chitosan composites was 1 gram for 100 mL samples, LAS concentration was reduced to 90.50% from the initial concentration. LAS degradation using TiO2-chitosan composites take place optimally in the pH range of 6, there was a reduction in LAS concentration up to 95.20% from the initial concentration.
