Writing is a skill that can help students to communicate and express their ideas, thoughts, and experiences in written form. However, it is not easy for students to master it because of lack of vocabularies and low ability in grammar, content, organization, mechanics and language use. One of the ways to help these difficulties is by providing lecturers’ feedback  . Feedback is used by the lecturer to assist the students to improve their writing.

This research was aimed to investigate how the fourth-semester students of English Language Education Study Program of Lambung Mangkurat University perceive the feedback given by the lecturer in Advanced Writing class. Descriptive qualitative was used as a method in this study. Data were collected from written documents and interview. The data were about perceptions of the tenth students toward the lecturers’ feedback in Advanced Writing Class.

The result of this research showed that feedback from the lecturer could be in written and oral forms. The lecturer gave written feedback to students’ writings in terms of the content, organization, mechanics, vocabulary, and grammar. Meanwile, the oral feedback was given in terms of the content and organization. The lecturer also used computer-mediated in terms of the content of students’ writings. The findings also showed that students have good perception toward lecturers’ feedback because it can help them to correct their mistake, encourage them to write better, and increase their motivation in writing. Students perceived that feedback can help them see their mistakes. They also could learn from other students which helps them improve their achievement in writing. The students feel happy, feel cared, feel motivated, feel challenged to write better and feel supported by the lecturers since they got written, oral and computer-mediated feedback. However, this research also revealed that some students felt and sad when they receive the oral feedback from lecturers because it made them feel ashamed to their classmates.

Finally, it is suggested that in delivering feedbacks such as written, oral and computer-mediated for Writing class, lecturers should consider the students’ characteristics because it will be easy to deliver the feedback to the students. Since the students have positive perception toward the lecturers’ feedback to their writings, it is recommended to the lecturers’ of Writing class to keep giving feedbak to the students. It is also recommended to the lecturers of other English language courses to give feedback to students’ work.
