ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model hubungan dan korelasi fenotipik antara berat telur itik Alabio dengan Haugh Unit (HU), berat putih telur, berat kuning telur, indeks putih telur dan indeks kuning telur. Sebanyak 500 butir telur dengan berat rata-rata (±SD) 65.7 ± 4.62 gram yang berasal dari induk itik Alabio berumur 32 minggu digunakan sebagai objek penelitian. Data dianalisis menggunakan model regresi linier sederhana dan korelasi Pearson dengan bantuan aplikasi IBM SPSS versi 21. Korelasi yang signifikan (p<0.05) ditemukan antara berat telur dengan beratputih telur, berat kuning telur, HU dan indeks kuning telur (p<0.01) dengan koefisien determinasi berturut turut sebesar 69%, 49%, 1% dan 4%. Namun, tidak terdapat korelasi antara berat telur dengan indeks putih telur (p>0.05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa berat telur dapat digunakan sebagai variabel untuk memprediksi berat putih dan kuning telur dengan menggunakan model regresi linear sederhana. Adapun model persamaan yang didapatkan yaitu berat putih telur (Y)= –0.06+0.55X, dan berat kuning telur    (Y)= –2.10+0.37X, dimana X sebagai berat telur. Berat telur sebagai variabel tunggal tidak dapat digunakan untuk memprediksi HU dan IKT itik Alabio secara akurat.

ABSTRACT

This current study was aimed at determining relationship models and phenotypic correlation between egg weight of Alabio ducks and the Haugh unit (HU), albumen weight, yolk weight, albumen index and yolk index, respectively.  Five hundred eggs with an average weight (mean ± SD) of 65.7 ± 4.62 g were collected from a flock of 32-week old commercial laying-hens as objects for this experiment.  A simple liniear regression and Pearson’s correlation were used to analyse the data using IBM SPSS version 21.A significant linear relationship (p<0.05) was found between egg weight and albumen weight, yolk weight, HU and yolk index, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.83, 0.70, -0.11 and 0.19, respectively.  However, there was no significant association between egg weight and albumen index (p>0.05).  This results indicate that egg weight can be used as a variable to appropriately predict albumen weight and yolk weight. As for the model found that is albumemen weight (Y)= –0.06+0.55X, and yolk weight      (Y)= –2.10+0.37X, where X for egg weight. The egg weight as a single varible was not capable to satisfactorily predict the HU and Yolk Indeks of the egg of Alabio duck.
