Rice plants (Oryza sativa L.) are one of the food crops that has an important role in human life and rice is a major food commodity for Indonesians. The need for rice in Indonesia continues to increase every year as the population increases, while rice crop production often decreases due to the most important rice pest attack, namely brown stem planters (Nilaparvata lugens Stal.). Brown stem planters attack rice plants in vegetative times that can cause damage directly or indirectly. A high population of brown stem planthoppers can cause rice crops to become hopperburn (drought). Pest control in rice crops most farmers still use chemical pesticides, but the use of chemical pesticides can be replaced with vegetable pesticides. Plants that can be used as vegetable pesticides is the brotowali plant (Tinospora crispa (L.) Miers.) that can be utilized on the stem. The research objective was to  determine the effect vegetable pesticides brotowali stem extract and the best concentration on the mortality of brown stem planthoppers. The experimental design in this study was a  randomized group design (RAK) five treatments with concentration levels of t0: control, t1: 3.125% (3.125 ml of brotowali stem extract + 96.875 ml of distilled water), t2: 6.25% (6.25 ml of Brotowali stem extract + 93.75 ml of distilled water), t3: 12.5% (12.5 ml of Brotowali stem extract + 87.5 ml of distilled water), t4: 25% (25 ml of Brotowali stem extract + 75 ml of distilled water), divided into four groups so that 20 experimental units are obtained. The results showed that the treatment had a very noticeable effect on the mortality of brown stem planthoppers and the best concentration of brotowali stem extract with a 25% effective concentration to turn off brown stem planthoppers with a mortality rate of 82.50%.
