One of the biodiversity in Indonesia is Bryophyta. Bryophytes are found in forest areas with tropical climates and moist soil conditions. One of the forests that has this condition is the pine forest located in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. The purpose of this study was to characterize and inventory Bryohpyta in pine forest. The sampling method was carried out by purposive sampling and the measurement of environmental factors were carried out in the field. Process identification of Bryophyta was done at the biosystematic laboratory of Faculty of Mathematics and Sciences Lambung Mangkurat University using reference books from the Handbook of Malesian Mosses volume 1 (Sphagnales to Dicranales) and volume 2 (Leucobryaceae to Buxbaumiaceae). The results showed that 8 Bryophyta species were found, namely Barbula indica, Octoblepharum albidum, Mannia sp., Fissidens areolatus, Hyophilla apiculata, Homalothecium lutescens, Frullania sp., Lopholejeunea subfusca. Including the family of Pottiaceae, Octoblepharaceae, and Aytoniaceae, Fissrogaceae, Barchythecium families. Lejeuaneaceae. In addition, the air temperature at the pine forests ranged from 30oC to 32oC, air humidity was 74% -78%, light intensity was between 30 and 160 lux, and soil pH was 7. Most of habitat was  at rock, soil, and tree substrates, with tapered leaves. until ovoid. The sporophyte was observed cylindrical shapes, and the moss leaf cells were only one layer cells form of square to irregular round shapes. Bryophyta characters found have differences in terms of the substrates, leaf shapes, and simple anatomy of the Bryophyta tissues.
