Reading a book, an article, or short story is not an easy work. It is related to some factors. One of them is the different ways in comprehending information from the whole text. It is called learning styles. Students have their own characteristics of strengths and weakness in taking and processing information. The purpose of this research is to find out the correlation between students’ learning style and their reading comprehension of English Education Study Program at Lambung Mangkurat University. This study has two research variables: (1) Learning style and (2) Reading Comprehension Achievement.

            The approach of this study was quantitative and the research method  used was correlation technique. The research setting took place at English Language Education Study Program of Lambung Mangkurat University (Advanced Reading Class). The objective of this study was to find out whether there was any correlation between student's learning styles and their achievement on reading comprehension. The instruments of this research was questionnaires and reading comprehension test. The first step was distributing adopted questionnaires to the respondent. The questionaire consists of 21 items representing the three kinds of learning styles; visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. The following step was giving reading comprehension test to the participants. Afterwards, the data were analyzed by using SPSS 25.0 software of statisticsto answer the research questions.

            Then, the result showed that the correlation coefficient 0.061, and it was closer to 0 which showed that there was very low correlation between students’ learning styles and their reading comprehension achievement. The statistical hyphotesis also showed that H0 was accepted and H1 was rejected. In conclusion, there was no significant correlation between students’ learning styles and their reading comprehension achievement.

 

            For further researches, correlating individual visual, auditory, kinesthetic learning styles with reading comprehension achievement can be considered. It can be done with anova formula and use spss 25.0 or the update version.
