            Translation is one of the important aspects of language specifically in learning a foreign language. To understand a particular language, one has to be able to understand the meaning of sentences in both source and target language so the message will be delivered appropriately. There are still difficulties that students face when they try to translate a text, especially from English to Indonesian. This attracts the researcher to find more about students' difficulties in translating English text to Indonesian. The researcher does the research at one of the Universities in South Kalimantan.

            This research was aimed to analyze students’ difficulties in translating English text to Indonesian. The subject of this research was the seventh semester of English Language Education Study Program students of Lambung Mangkurat University. This research used descriptive qualitative. Furthermore, this research used an open-ended questionnaire and a text as instruments in collecting data. The data then described in descriptive form.

            The result of this research showed that students' difficulties in translating English text to Indonesian were difficulty in translating the lexical meaning, grammatical meaning, contextual meaning, socio-cultural meaning, and also the researcher found out that students' difficulties in translating was lack of vocabularies.
