Writing is one of the most critical skills that English students learn. writing is not an easy activity, although in particular we have many ideas to include in the composition of an academic writing. Students must master in composing academic writing because they need a clear understanding of the aspects of academic writing. abstracts are crucial in academic writings. Abstracts should be well-written and well-organized. Mistakes commonly found in academic writings, especially in abstracts. In emphasizing this research, the researcher had taken several abstracts of students’ undergraduate thesis of the English Language Education of Lambung Mangkurat University. This research using AI (Artificial Intelligence) as tools which are Grammarly and Google Docs, Grammarly is use because the AI of Grammarly can check the mistakes that has been written by writer.

 

This study aims to identify, describe, and explain the types of grammatical mistakes found in undergraduate thesis abstracts of students of English Language Education of Lambung Mangkurat University. The researcher use quantitative research as the research design to conduct the research. Researcher wants to investigate the grammatical mistakes in undergraduate thesis abstracts of English Language Education students of Lambung Mangkurat University.

The finding is shown that the total mistakes is 113. It is seen from the result that research abstract thesis in 2018 has the highest frequency of mistakes (44 mistakes, 39%) compared to the other research fields (2019: 42 mistakes, 37%; and 2020: 27 mistakes, 24%). To see more detailed presentation of the mistakes in each research.
