Key words: Perceptions and Google Classroom.

 

          In education, innovation is needed as efforts that are considered capable to advance the education world. Google classroom is one of educational innovations that can currently be used in this pandemic situation. However, it cannot be denied that the use of Google Classroom also reaps pros and cons among the students. Furthermore, it makes the researcher interested to find out the students’ perceptions on the implementation of Google Classroom. 

 

The total population of this research was 396 students. The sample of this research were the tenth grade students in the first semester of SMKN 2 Kandangan. The total numbers were 200 students. The researcher used a quantitative approach and a descriptive method. The data were obtained by using questionnaire, observation and documentation.

 

After collecting the data, the researcher has classified the students’ perception into three categories, very positive, positive and negative.

 

 The final result was 76%. Based on the table of score interpretation criteria, 76% was on very positive criterion. The students’ perceptions was included about the students that get easy in reading the material, the menu in Google Classroom is interesting and easy to understand, the students’ get easy to save the important document and also the important thing the students’ percept the Google Classroom is easy to access. Furthermore, most of the statement get very positive response from the students.

 

 

 

Based on the result, the researcher suggests for the teacher that they may use information about the students’ perceptions as guidance to implement teaching and learning processes. It may be used as reference to choose a media that is appropriate with the situation. Then, for the other researchers who want to conduct the same research about the students’ perceptions on the implementation of Google Classroom. The research can be used as preliminary data for conducting research, especially for experimental research.
