Water quality is the quality or condition of water seen from several aspects associated with certain activities or needs. Water quality is measured and/or tested based on certain parameters and certain methods in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The purpose of this study is to analyze the quality of river water due to industrial waste wood in the Alalak River and analyze the quality standards of clean water and human activities. This research was conducted by taking direct samples and analyzing (Grab sampling method) there were 5 sample points studied for one day with 3 depth points, namely 1m, 3m, 5m. Then a matching method was carried out between the results of river water quality research with the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5 of 2014 concerning Wastewater Quality Standards in wood industry wastewater and national water quality criteria and standards, Dir. Investigation of Water Problems, 2014. The samples tested included parameters of temperature, odor, taste, color, turbidity, pH, BOD, COD, Hydrogen Sulfide, Ammonia, TSS, Phenol. Data analysis was carried out by quantitative descriptive method. The results showed that the water quality of the Alalak river according to physical parameters, namely temperature, odor, taste, color and turbidity, showed normal quality because it did not exceed the maximum limit. Chemical parameters such as pH, BOD, COD, Hydrogen Sulfide, Ammonia, TSS, Phenol showed that at some points there were unpolluted and moderately polluted which included not polluted namely pH, Hydrogen Sulfide, TSS, while moderately polluted namely BOD, COD, Ammonia, and Phenol. These results indicate that there is little influence from human activities such as industrial waste and daily activities around the river.
