Low motivation to learn can have a bad effect on students, this can hinder the development of students so that they are able to develop optimally.

Learning motivation is a driving force to do various kinds of work or tasks for students, besides that learning motivation is also a determinant of direction in carrying out various actions to encourage students to carry out their duties and obligations, and learning motivation is a selection of which actions are good and bad.

This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of contribution research, the data collection tool uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale measurement, and the sampling technique uses simple random sampling, the sample consists of 73 class VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Banjarmasin.

From the results of the research conducted, the results showed a significance value of 0.000 (sig > 0.05). Because the significance is much smaller than 0.05, it can be said that there is a joint contribution between self-efficacy and self-control on learning motivation in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 4 Banjarmasin. Students who have confidence and stability in their abilities will definitely continue to hone their abilities in learning, with confidence in students, it can be a driving force for students to be motivated in learning and students who are able to control their behavior and thoughts can follow the learning process well because someone is motivated from himself. This self-control can be a driving force for someone to be motivated in learning. So in this case it can be seen that self-efficacy and self-control together do contribute to students' learning motivation. Suggestions for further researchers can use this research as a comparison and reference to add insight and can also develop this research by adding other factors or variables that influence students' learning motivation.
