            This research is aimed to describe the use of media in teaching English at SMP Negeri 2 Kuala Kapuas. This research is focused on what media were used during the Covid-19 pandemic for teaching and learning English for seventh grade students in online and offline classes and how it applied.

            To find the data, the researcher used some instruments; they were observation sheet for the primary data, interview guidelines for the secondary data, and video recording to keep the data. The observation was held for 3 weeks and 3 meetings of online classes. The interview was conducted with one English teachers of the Seventh Grade teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Kuala Kapuas, and 3 video recordings as the evidence of the data.

            From the data gathered, the researcher concludes that English teacher at SMP Negeri 2 Kuala Kapuas used media for learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The media used are Computer, Zoom Application, Power point, Video, Song, Padlet, WhatsApp application for online classes and Worksheet for offline classes. The mandatory media used such as Computer and Zoom Application has been provided by the school to make it easier for teacher to implement online class. Researcher suggest that the school has to maximize the use of existing media to help students received learning properly during the Covid-19 pandemic.
