Learning to speak in English is one of the problems experienced by students in learning a foreign language. In this Covid-19 pandemic situation, students are asked to conduct online teaching and learning activities. The background of the researcher is to find out the problems faced by ELESP Batch 2020 students in learning to speak English through online learning.

Speaking is a productive ability as a second or foreign language used directly to convey the ideas, knowledge, and feelings of speakers to others. In speaking, people need to be able to use the words with the correct pronunciation, create the best grammar for the utterances, and choose the syntax or word choice.

The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were students of the 2020 English Language Education Study Program, and the participants in this study were 2 students. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire.

Based on the data from the questionnaire, each student has different problems. Of all the problems, more than half of students agree that they have problems with their vocabulary, also they have problems when the other person doesn’t understand what is being said. Even each student has their problems, but more than half of students think that learning to speak in English is an easy thing to do, and they love to speak in English.

Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that students think that learning to speak English is an easy thing to learn. Although learning to speak is considered easy, every student certainly has obstacles in learning it.
