During a pandemic like this time, schools are closed and students are required to study at home online through WhatsApp groups, zoom meetings or google classrooms using personal cell phones or laptops to prevent Covid-19 transmission. This certainly makes a difference in how teacher teach online and in schools as usual. This really requires creativity from teacher to always upgrade their scientific knowledge in order to be able to create learning products needed by students. These barriers must be overcome immediately in order to maximize the learning outcome such as by providing adequate facilities, giving training to the teacher in utilizing online media for teaching. Online learning must be carefully prepared so that the learning outcome remains the quality as it should.

This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The reason for choosing the descriptive qualitative method is because the researcher wants to focus on how the perception on the use of Banjare  folklore in teaching reading comprehension is taught online during the covid-19 pandemic, whether the teacher presents interesting learning as is usually done at school and according to school procedures. lesson plans, and whether students are enthusiastic about learning reading comprehension online.

The teacher had the perception that it is effective for the students since the students eel interesting to read the Banjarese folklore, they felt happy to know the Banjarese folklore. After conducting the observation of online reading comprehension learning using Banjarese folklore and conducting interviews with English teacher at SMAN 1 Amuntai, the researcher concluded that the use of Banjar folklore can be an option so that students can know their own regional stories and also preserve Banjar folklore and can be applied to teaching other than reading comprehension.
