THE RELATIONSHIP OF SELF-IMAGE WITH THE INTENSITY OF VIOLENCE IN COURTSHIP IN LATE TEENAGE WOMEN

Based on the annual record of the National Commission on Women (CATAHU) violence in dating ranks second most after domestic violence in the realm of personal relationships and is increasing. Violence in courtship can have a negative impact on the physical and psychic of its victims. Individuals can face various challenges & obstacles when having a positive self-image. Self-image can be called self-image. A positive self-image is an individual's positive self-image that can help individuals when facing a problem that arises. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-image and the intensity of violence in courtship. This research uses quantitative research methods. The selection of subjects used purpasive sampling techniques as many as 250 S1 students at Lambung Mangkurat University. Data collection is carried out online. The measuring instruments used are the self-image scale (MBSRQ-AS) and the intensity scale of violence in courtship (CADRI-S) which are the result of the adaptation of the original scale. The results showed a correlation of 0.55 and a significance of 0.386 meaning that there was no significant relationship between self-image and the intensity of violence in courtship in late adolescence. Based on the results of such studies is that self-image allows to lower the likelihood of being exposed to the intensity of violence in courtship.
