The conversion of forest land and mining activities cause a decrease in soil organic matter which is a characteristic of degraded land. The low organic matter is directly proportional to the low content of C-organic which is the largest component in organic matter. Efforts that can be made to increase the C-organic content of the soil is by giving organic matter. Revegetation of ex-coal mining land is an effort that can contribute organic matter derived from plant biomass. This study aims to determine the effect of revegetation on the increase of soil C-organic in ex-coal mining land. This study uses an exploratory descriptive method where data is collected through the results of field surveys and the results of soil analysis in the laboratory as primary data, while secondary data is used to support primary data obtained from various libraries and official publications.  The results showed that there was an increase in the C-organic content of soil on revegetated land at a depth of 0-30 cm with an average percentage of 1.41% and 1.26% on unrevegetated land. Meanwhile, at a depth of 30-60 cm on land that has been revegetated it has an average percentage of 1.38% and on land that has not been revegetated it is 1.28%. There was an increase that was significantly different, although the increase in the C-organic content was still within the low criteria (<2.00) set by the Soil Research Center.
