In conducting draft survey activities, there are several factors that can affect the accuracy of the data. These factors can affect the reading of the ship's draft, deductibles and calculations of the draft survey so that it can result in cargo losses (loss of cargo). Based on the need for data accuracy in the field, it is necessary to analyze techniques and mechanisms regarding the calculation of coal volumes in coal loading activities on barges as an accurate and accurate calculation.

The methods used in this study were by draft survey activities, knowing the tonnage of barge loads with draft surveys, and factors that influenced draft survey activities.

Based on actual data during the study, load tonnage data from 20 barges between 6500-7500 MT with the largest tonnage or load of 7434.43 MT, the average load of the 20 largest barges was 7207.67 MT and the total overall load of the 20 barges was 144,153.38 MT. The influencing factors in the measurement of draft surveys on barges include weather factors such as wind blowing, heavy rain, crime or theft and errors in the measurement of draft barges.
