Cabbage is a vegetable commodity that is among the most consumed by the people of Indonesia when compared to other vegetable commodities. However, in an effort to increase cabbage productivity there are various obstacles, one of which is the attack of plant pest organisms (OPT) that can reduce the productivity of cabbage plants and damage crop yields.  Insect pests that often attack cabbage are armyworm pests (Spodoptera litura F.). One of the more eco friendly methods of pest control is control with natural basic materials. Papaya seeds have the potential to be used as bioinsecticides because they contain a number of secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. This study aims to determine the influence of papaya seed powder and determine the dose of papaya seed powder that is effective in suppressing the attack of armyworm pests (Spodoptera litura F.). This research was carried out at the Production Laboratory of the Department of Agroecotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Lambung Mangkurat Banjarbaru University in December 2021 to February 2022.  The method used in this research is a Complete Random Design that is repeated 4 (four) times and consists of 5 (five) treatments, namely treatment a0: without papaya seed powder (control), a1: papaya seed powder 10 grams, a2: papaya seed powder 20 grams, a3: papaya seed powder 30 grams, and a4: papaya seed powder 40 grams.  The results showed that the application of papaya seed powder (Carica papaya L.) had a real effect in suppressing the attack of armyworm pests (Spodoptera litura F.) on cabbage plants in treatment a2 with a powder dose of 20 grams which can kill 50% of armyworm pests (Spodoptera litura F.) which can be recommended as basic information against the use of bioinsecticides.
