Peatlands have the opportunity to be used as productive agricultural areas, including food crops and horticultural crops such as chili cultivation in Kalimantan, one of which is cayenne pepper, the Hiyung variety, which is carried out on peatlands.  Peatlands are very vulnerable to damage, Among them, the acidity of the soil is very acidic (pH) and soil nutrient content is low. This study aims to determine the effect of giving swallow droppingson the availability of NPK nutrients and the growth of Hiyung cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) on peatlands, and to determine the best dose of swallow droppings. This research is a pot experiment using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, namely 0 ton.ha-1; 2,5 ton.ha-1; 5 ton.ha-1; 7,5 ton.ha-1, and 10 ton.ha-1 each treathment was repeated 4 times, so there were 20 experimental units.

The results showed that swallowing bird droppings had an effect on the availability of N-NH4+, N-NO3-, P-available, CEC, pH, N-total soil and flowering time, but had no effect on K available soil and dry weight of cayenne pepper Hiyung. (Capsicum frutescens L.) in peatlands. The application of swallow droppings at a dose of 5 ton.ha-1 was the best result for the availability of N-NH4+. The application of swallow droppings at a dose of 7.5 ton.ha-1 was the best result for the availability of P. Application of swallow droppings at a dose of 2.5 tons.ha-1 was the best result for the availability of N-NO3-, CEC and N-total soil.
