Media has an important role in the teaching and learning process. It encourages students’ motivation and interest in the learning process. Therefore, students are able to understand better the material presented in a certain way. Thus, it will stimulate the learning process. This research aimed to find out the implementation of Edmodo as a media in Intermediate Grammar Class 2019/2020 Academic Year at the English Language of Education Study Program and what the problems are when using Edmodo as a media in the teaching and learning process.

A descriptive-qualitative approach was used in this research. The subjects of the research are the lecturer and the students of the Intermediate Grammar Class. This research used observation sheet and interview sheet as the research instruments. The interview was later used to confirm the observation.

After the data was collected and analyzed, the findings showed that Edmodo was used by the lecturer as an assessment tool to evaluate the students’ comprehension of that day’s materials. Therefore, the implementation was done near the end of the class or at the beginning of the class. The Edmodo quiz varied from multiple choices and true or false statements. The students were given allocated time to finish the quiz in Edmodo. When the time was up, the lecturer and the students discussed the answers together by showing the answer in Edmodo application. The lecturer also showed the students’ scores using Edmodo Application that connected with the LCD. Meanwhile, the problems that occurred when using Edmodo are mainly about the poor internet connection. It was the main barrier when using Edmodo because it took a long time to load Edmodo on the website. Besides, low battery and human error were also encountered when using Edmodo. The error of the system also became a problem in using Edmodo. Furthermore, there is no exact solution on how to solve the error of the system. It needed further research on how the error could happen. Therefore, it is suggested to other researchers to investigate deeply the error of the system when using Edmodo and how to overcome it. Hopefully, this research can be a reference for further research.
