Peat is the result of weathering of organic matter so that the content of organic matter is relatively high. Peatlands have the potential to be used as agricultural cultivation land, but have problems, namely the availability of low nitrogen content. Poultry manure can be used as organic fertilizer to increase the availability of nitrogen nutrient, including chicken manure and swalow manure. The nitrogen content in poultry manure has the potential replacement the role inorganic fertilizer in providing nitrogen nutrient. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the combined formula of swallow manure and chicken manure and to determine the best formula for peatland application on nitrogen availability.

The research method used was a one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The factors tested were the formula of poultry manure from swallow manure and chicken manure, either singly or in combination with six treatments, namely A0W0 = without poultry manure; A0W100 = 0 kg of chicken manure N ha-1 + 100 kg of  swallow manure N ha-1; A100W0 = chicken manure 100 kg N ha-1+ swallow manure 0 kg N ha-1; A50W50 = chicken manure 50 kg N ha-1+ swallow manure 50 kg N ha-1;  A70W30 = chicken manure 70 kg N ha-1 + swallow manure 30 kg N ha-1; A30W70 = chicken manure 30 kg N ha-1 + swallow manure 70 kg N ha-1. Each treatment was repeated four times so that 24 units of the pot experiment were obtained.

The results showed that the formula of chicken manure and swalow manure had an effect on available N (N-NH4+ and N-NO3-), soil pH and C-Organic at 2, 4 and 6 weeks of observation. Application of swallow manure with a dose of 100 kg N ha-1 can increase N-NH4+ + and soil pH at weeks 2, 4 and 6 with a value of 51.22 mg kg-1, 76.84 mg kg-1, and 82.69 mg kg-1. Application of chicken manure 30 kg N ha-1  + swallow manure 70 kg N ha-1 at the 2 and 4 weeks of observation can increase N-NO3- in the amount of 14.74 mg kg-1 and 27.99 mg kg-1, while at the 6 week of observation, application of swallow manure with a dose of 100 kg N ha-1 can increase N-NO3- in the amount of 34.86 mg kg-1. Application of swallow manure with a dose of 100 kg N ha-1 at 2, 4 and 6 weeks of observation reduced C-Organic in the amount of 6.80%; 6.46% and 4.93%. Application of swallow manure with a dose of 100 kg N ha-1 at weeks 2, 4 and 6 of observation increased the soil pH in the amount of of 5.03; 5.13 and 5.48.
