ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh dan membandingkan jenis kuning telur mana yang lebih baik sebagai bahan pengencer serta mempertahankan motilitas progresif dan daya hidup spermatozoa kambing Peranakan Etawah (PE) secara optimal. Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan tiga perlakuan dan enam kali ulangan yang terdiri dari : (P1) 80% tris aminometan + 20% kuning telur ayam ras, (P2) 80% tris aminometan + 20% kuning telur ayam kampung, dan (P3) 80% tris aminometan + 20% kuning telur puyuh. Masing-masing perlakuan dievaluasi kualitas spermatozoanya setiap hari hingga presentase motil minimal 40%. Hasil penelitian pada karakteristik semen segar kambing PE yaitu volume 1,05 ml, konsentrasi 4.967 juta/ml, motilitas 80,25%, hidup spermatozoa 86,25%, dan abnormalitas spermatozoa 4,50%. Hasil penelitian persentase motilitas dan viabilitas pada hari keempat menunjukkan P1 (25,83% ; 34,65%), P2 (30,00% ; 39,93%), dan P3 (40,00% ; 45,47%). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam menggunakan program Anova Excel V.4. Kesimpulan hasil dari penelitian pada perlakuan P3 menghasilkan persentase motilitas dan persentase hidup spermatozoa kambing PE lebih baik dibandingkan perlakuan P1 dan P2 selama empat hari preservasi pada suhu 3-5oC untuk memenuhi syarat dan direkomendasikan ke program inseminasi buatan.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze the effect and compare which type of egg yolk is better as a diluent and to optimally maintain progressive motility and vitality of Etawah Crossbreed (EC) goats spermatozoa. The research method used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with three treatments and six replications consisting of : (P1) 80% tris aminomethane + 20% chicken egg yolk, (P2) 80% tris aminomethane + 20% free-range chicken egg yolk , and (P3) 80% tris aminomethane + 20% quail egg yolk. Each treated the quality of spermatozoa every day to a motile percentage of at least 40%. The results of the study on the characteristics of fresh semen of PE goats were 1.05 ml volume, 4.967 million/ml concentration, 80.25% motility, 86.25% spermatozoa viability, and 4.50% spermatozoa abnormality. The results of the percentage of motility and viability research on the fourth day showed P1 (25.83%; 34.65%), P2 (30.00%; 39.93%), and P3 (40.00%; 45.47%). The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance using the Anova Excel V.4 program. The conclusion from the treatment in P3 treatment resulted in the percentage of motility and survival percentage of PE goats spermatozoa better than P1 and P2 treatments for four days of preservation at a temperature of 3-5oC to was eligible and be recommended to the artificial insemination program.
