The rapid industrialization of sasirangan cloth makes water quality more important. Most of the Sasirangan industrial craftsmen are home industries, so they need an alternative for effective, inexpensive and efficient waste treatment. In reducing the risk of water contamination, a combination of phytoremediation with water hyacinth plants (Eichhornia crassipes) and filtrasu with coconut shell charcoal (Cocos nucifera) was carried out to determine the ability of these plants to reduce total chromium heavy metal (Cr) from the liquid waste of Sasirangan. This study is an experimental study using a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 3 replications. Prior to the process of phytoremediation and filtration, acclimatization was carried out (3 days). Total chromium test with ICP was carried out according to treatment, namely on day 0 (H0) as a control, day 3 (H3), day 7 (H7), and day 10 (H10). The supporting parameters in this study were morphology, temperature, conductivity, DO, TDS and pH. The combination of water hyacinth phytoremediation and coconut shell charcoal filtration was considered effective in providing a value below the quality standard applicable on day 10 in reducing total chromium heavy metal (Cr) with a value of 0.0176 mg/L. The results of the validity test on popular scientific books that were developed showed results with very valid criteria. The results of the content readability test for popular scientific books that were developed showed results with very good criteria.
