ABSTRACT

Hyacinth root is a weed plant that can damage waters and cause ecological problems due to its very fast growth. The protein content in hyacinth which ranges from 12-18% and the amino acid content that can be useful as a gibberellin phytohormon can be used as a liquid organik fertilizer against the growth of water spinach. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of hyacinth root as a liquid organik fertilizer (POC) on water spinach growth and to determine the most appropriate concentration of the influence of using hyacinth root as a liquid organik fertilizer (POC) on the growth of water spinach. This study was designed using the Complete Randomized Design (RAL) method which consisted of five treatments, namely P0 (6000 ml / l AB Mix), P1 (1800 ml / l POC + 4200 ml / l AB mix), P2 (3000 ml / l POC + 3000 ml / l AB mix), P3 (4200POC + 1800 ml / l AB mix) and P4 (6000 ml / l POC). The results showed that the administration of POC Hyacinth Root had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the growth of leaf length, leaf width and fresh weight of plants with the best concentration of P1 treatment by giving (1800 ml / l POC + 4200 ml / l AB mix) Hyacinth Root for leaf length and leaf width. The best concentration of P2 treatment (3000 ml/l POC + 3000 ml/l AB mix) for fresh weight. Based on this, it can be concluded that the influence of hyacinth root extract (Eichhornia crassipes) affects the growth of water spinachs (Ipomoea reptans Poir) with a hydroponic system.
