ABSTRACT

The road is a land transportation infrastructure covering all parts of the road, including auxiliary buildings and equipment for traffic. Good traffic can realize a smooth flow, sufficient speed, safe and comfortable, and not congested. Traffic is also inseparable from the presence of vehicles that are running or stopping. Stopped vehicles need a place to park because it will be very disturbing if the stopped vehicle is only parked on the side of the road until it enters the road body. One location that needs attention in traffic is the Karang Anyar 1 road section, North Loktabat, North Banjarbaru, Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. Traffic flow on this road is quite busy because there are many street vendors and restaurants which makes this road activity always busy and can cause traffic jams at certain hours.

This research begins by collecting data on road geometric conditions, traffic volume, and environmental conditions. The survey was conducted at three points, namely 100 meters before the presence of street vendors, in the area where there were street vendors, and 50 meters after the presence of street vendors. Based on the data obtained through the survey, is then included in the calculation of road performance using conventional methods, namely the Greenshield, Greenberg, and Underwood models.

The best model relationship is obtained using the Greenberg model based on the calculation results. In this model, the results showed that in the area before the street vendors, there was a decrease with the maximum volume decreasing by 17.67%, for the average speed there was a decrease of 0.18%, and for the maximum density, there was a decrease of 17.52 %. The area after the street vendors has increased from the street vendors area, such as the maximum volume of 8.78%, the average speed has increased by 4.98% and the maximum density has increased by 3.62%.
