The process of translating involves transferring a concept, element of knowledge, or meaning from one language to another. English and Indonesian are two languages with diverse cultures. As a result, when translating this content, one must take into account the two languages' respective grammatical structures, meanings, and cultural differences.

The objective of this research is to ascertain the method of translation that the ELESP students at Lambung Mangkurat University employ when completing translation tasks. A qualitative research methodology is used in this study with 33 students served as the study's participants.

The researcher used a manuscript that was translated by students as the basis for the analysis. This study discovered every translation method, including literal, faithful, word-for-word, semantic, adaptation, free, idiomatic, and communicative translation. Nonetheless, literal translation, free translation, and communicative translation were the primary methods of translation that ELESP students employed when translating an Indonesian narrative text into English.
