The area of ??lebak swamp land in Kecamatan Daha Selatan that has not been utilized properly is 5,160 ha. This lebak swampland has the potential to be used as agricultural land. The problems faced in Lebak Swampland are low soil fertility, water depth and unpredictable water arrival. An alternative that can be done to overcome this problem is to apply a floating farming system and provide ameliorant to the planting medium to increase fertility. The types of ameliorants to be used in this study were chicken manure and agricultural lime, while the plants to be cultivated were chili plants.

The purpose of this study was to determine the best treatment between chicken manure and agricultural lime which is good for floating farming activities, measure the growth and yield of chili peppers, and analyze the chemical characteristics of the planting medium used in floating farming activities.

This research was conducted in Parigi Village, Daha Selatan District, Hulu Sungai Selatan. This research was carried out for five months from December 2022 to April 2023. This research activity began with making floating bamboo rafts, making floating planting media, giving treatments, measuring plant height and yields of chili plants. The treatment given in this study was 500 g of manure per planting hole and 6 g of agricultural lime per planting hole. This study used data analysis RAL (Completely Randomized Design) one factor.

Based on the LSD (Least Significant Difference) test with a 95% confidence level on plant height data, the result was that chicken manure was able to increase plant height from 6.78 cm to 55.45 cm. The highest yield was obtained in the manure treatment of 1,223 g of chicken manure. Chicken manure was also able to increase the chemical parameters observed, namely pH, C-Organic, NH₄⁺, NO₃^-, Available-P and K-dd.
