Background:Bilateralsagittalsplitosteotomyisatypeofjawsurgeryinwhichthe mandible is split and moved anteriorly or posteriorly to straighten it into a more balanced and functional position. Orthognathic surgical treatment using theBSSO technique on the Asian continent is often used because cases such as class III dysgnathism are quite high. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of orthognathic surgery with bilateral sagittal split osteotomy in Europe and Asia. Methods: The method used is the method of literature review or literature review. Literature study using narrative method. Data collection is done by using secondary data. Results: The highest prevalence of cases of dentoscletal abnormalities in continental Europe is class III dysgnathism in Italy, while the lowestisclassIdysgnathisminPoland.MeanwhileontheAsiancontinent,thereis a cleft palate that occurs a lot in Taiwan, the lowest is displacement class I in SingaporeandThailand.Conclusion:Theresultsofthestudyconcludedthat5,208 (78%)patientshaddento-scletalabnormalitiesinEuropeand4,715(58%)patients were treated inAsia.
