Motivation is a change of energy in a person marked by an impulse derived from a person to achieve the goal. It is also one of the factors that determine student learning outcomes, in this case, that makes the behavior work or learn with complete initiative, creative and direction.Moreover, this study is conducted to find out how is the students' motivation in learning English. It is conducted to determine what factors influence students' motivation to learn English.

This research was administered by using descriptive qualitative research design. The sample were the Second Grade of SMP26 Banjarmasin Academic in Year 2020/2021. Purposive sampling technique was used. The instruments used were questionnaire. Percentage counting was used to analyze the findings.

The findings showed the students have problem with self study activity, especially English course. They can manage their time well but seldom to review their English at home. The students focus to their teacher, always bring their textbook, give respond to their teacher, ask when get difficulties in their learning, and be enthusiastic too. Most of the students have not enough control and attentions form their parents.

The researcher had several suggestions. The students have to focus more on their English; more explore their English skill by taking course, attention to their English properties, and think that English is not a difficult lesson.Parents must take part to control their children so they can get a good condition that drives them to achieve success in learning English.The teacher must help students to build their motivation and to be more discipline in learning English, especially to the students having low discipline. They should be able to create fun atmosphere in English class. Teacher and parents should work together in order to drive their children to be succed in English.
