Zea mays L., also known as maize, is a significant food staple. Maize was originally the primary food source in some Indonesian provinces, including Madura and Nusa Tenggara. In addition to being able to be processed into maize oil and maize flour, maize is primarily used as a raw ingredient for animal feed. The largest maize-planting area in South Kalimantan Province is found in the Tanah Laut district, one of 13 regencies or cities. The Tanah Laut Regency's Central Statistics Agency estimates that the Tanah Laut district's maize-growing area will be about 19,804 ha in 2022. The Tambang Ulang sub-district has a 570 ha maize planting area and 378 ha in the Bati-Bati sub-district. The majority of the maize in the Tanah Laut district is animal feed. Plant-disturbing organisms are unavoidably associated with a planting field. The maize-growing region is one of the ecosystems of different animals, particularly those from the phylum Arthropoda. The goal of this study was to count the number of arthropod orders and catalog their families in the Tambang Ulang and Bati-Bati subdistricts. The location of the research was several maize planting zones in the Bati-Bati and Tambang Ulang subdistricts. From June 19 to June 25, 2023, the seven-day research took place. Purposive sampling and other kinds of traps, such as sweep nets, light traps, and pitfall traps, are used in this study method. The conclusions of this study demonstrate the diversity of arthropod orders, which are categorized into moderate conditions.
