Abstract: Karamunting leaves (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa) and benalu batu leaves (Paraboea sp) are plants that have secondary metabolites that have potential as antioxidants. Types of secondary metabolites will affect the capacity of plant antioxidant activity. The method used in this study was descriptive by measuring the antioxidant activity of infusion of karamunting leaves and benalu batu. Antioxidant activity was identified as scavenging hydrogen peroxide used Ruch method, scavenging hydroxyl radicals and metal chelating used method Dinis method. Data analysis was done using the independent t-test. The percentage of metal chelating activity of the infusion of stone parasite leaves (76.934  ± 3.984%) was significantly higher than that of karamunting leaves (16.559 ± 1.974%) (p = 0.000). hydrogen   peroxide scavenging activity of stone parasite leaves (72.508 ± 1.951%) was significantly higher p = 0,000. Compared to karamunting leaves (43.299 ± 1.858%). The hydroxyl radical scavenging activity of the parasite leaves (23.544 ± 1.601%) was significantly lower (p = 0.037) compared to the leaves of Karamunting (29.132 ± 2.692%). The conclusion of the study was that there was a greater difference in the antioxidant activity capacity of the parasite leaf infusion on metal chelating and , hydrogen   peroxide scavenging

Abstrak: Daun karamunting (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa) dan daun benalu batu (Paraboea sp) adalah tanaman yang memiliki senyawa metabolit skunder yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan. Jenis senyawa metabolit skunder akan mempengaruhi kapasitas aktivitas antioksidan tanaman.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan mengukur aktivitas antioksidan infusa daun karamunting dan benalu batu. Aktivitas antioksidan yang diindentifikasi scavenging hidrogen peroksida dengan metode ruch,    scavenging radikal hidroksil dan chelating logam metode Dinis. Analisis data dengan independent-t test. Prosentasi aktivitas chelating logam infusa daun benalu batu (76,934 ± 3,984%) lebih tinggi bermakna dibandingkan dengan daun karamunting (16,559 ± 1,974%) p = 0,000. Aktivitas scavenging hydrogen peroksida daun benalu batu (72,508 ±1,951%) lebih tinggi bermakna ( p = 0,000) dibandingkan dengan daun karamunting (43,299 ± 1,858%). Aktivitas scavenging radikal hidroksil daun benalu batu (23,544 ± 1,601%) lebih rendah bermakna (p = 0,037) dibandingkan dengan daun karamunting (29,132 ± 2,692%). Kesimpulan penelitian terdapat perbedaan kapasitas aktivitas antioksidan infusa daun benalu batu lebih besar pada chelating logam dan scavenging hidrogen peroksida.
