The energy demand in Indonesia continues to increase each year but is not in balance with the available energy supply. To reduce the use of conventional fuels such as oil, gas, and coal, it is essential to explore alternative and renewable energy sources, including briquettes. This research employs a laboratory testing method with a five-stage design: preparation, data collection, data processing, data analysis, and the preparation of the final report. The process involves creating samples with a composition of coal, galam wood bark, adhesive, kaolin, and lime adjusted to the specified percentages. Proximate analysis, calorific value testing, and combustion testing are conducted. The optimal composition from this study is found in sample G1 with a composition of 60%:20%:15%:3%:2%, exhibiting test results of 6.67% for IM, 14.52% for Ash, 52.57% for VM, 26.24% for FC, 6,030.6 cal/g for CV, and a burning time of 14,760 seconds
