There are various ways to orgarize the sentences for transfening information
in a piece of writing. In producing a clear sentence to make a good writing, writers
will go through a process of writing and also every writer has different ways in
producing writing product, the quality of writing as product itself is determined in
this process.
This research aims to find out the dominant linguistic problems of Writing III
class students batch 2014 ir the process of writing. This research employed
descriptive quantitative method and
used questionnaire as instrument. The subject of
this research is English Deparfinent students who are taking Writing III class. The
population
is 134 students and sample 620/o of totalpopulation (75 students).
According to the questionnaire the dominant linguistic problems faced by
students is in the spelling followed with content, punctuation, organization and last is
punctuation. The
researcher believes spelling became a cofllmon problem for students
because
of the similarities of words which has different spelling and also that some
words in English do not sound exactly as they are spelled.
The
researcher suggested that the students in the college level always improve
their memorizing skill, focus and be carefirl in writing, widening their vocabularies
and practice. Through teaching and leaming process students be expected to ty to use
more varief of word choices,use a spelling resource and teach them to approach
writing as a process and as a product.
