 This research aims to find out whether there is significant difference between the students who are taught recount text through picture series by using Flipchart and the students who are taught through PowerPoint in writing recount text.

The researcher used quasi-experimental design and quantitative method. The researcher uses cluster random sampling  with total sample 46 students, the instrument used was writing test. To analyze data, the researcher uses analytic method scroring and t-test formula by using SPSS.

 

The result shows that the value of t-table with significance level 0,05 df 44 was 2.01. Meanwhile, the result of t-test is 2.93. It means that t-test was higer than t-table (2.93 > 2.01). It can be concluded that there is a significant difference instudentsachievement in writing recount text between students who are taught by using flipchart as media and those who are using PowerPoint. Therefore, the suggestion for the English teachers is that they should use flipchart as media in teaching recount text because it can support and influence the result of students achievement to produce better writing.
