Abstrak 

Banjarmasin sebagai kota modern yang memiliki potensi alam dan budaya yang kuat menjadi magnet  bagi  masyarakat  untuk  tinggal  di  Banjarmasin.  Hal  ini  berdampak  pada  tingkat kepadatan penduduk yang tinggi serta munculnya permukiman kumuh di beberapa wilayah Kota Banjarmasin. Permasalahan ini dijawab dengan Rumah Susun Kampung Melayu sebagai solusi masalah perumahan. Metode penyelesaian masalah yang digunakan adalah metode simbiosis  yang terintegrasi  dengan aspek sosial,  budaya dan ekonomi  masyarakat  banjar dimana metode ini menghubungkan antara manusia dan lingkungan agar tercipta hubungan yang  positif  dan  saling  menguntungkan.  Hasil  akhir  rancangan  berupa  Rumah  Susun Kampung Melayu yang mengoptimalkan lingkungan berupa area tepi sungai dengan konsep 

waterfront development.

ABSTRACT 

Banjarmasin as a modern city with natural and cultural potential becomes a magnet for people to live in Banjarmasin. This has an impact on the high population density and the emergence of slums in several areas of Banjarmasin. This problem is answered with The Melayu Vertical Housing as a solution to the housing problem. The problem solving method used is a symbiotic method integrated with the social, cultural and economic aspects of banjar society where this method connects people and the environment in order to create a positive and mutually beneficial relationship. The final result of the design in the form of The Melayu Vertical Housing that optimize the environment in the form of waterfront area with waterfront development concept.
