Abstrak

This study aims to look at the combustion characteristics of coconut oil mixtures with diesel oil using droplets, the characteristics observed were, flame temperature, iginition delay time, burning rate, and visualization (flame height and fire color). The variation of the mixture used in this study is a mixture of coconut oil and diesel fuel with a percentage mixture of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50%. The droplet tool used for research is a tool designed by researchers. The results of the study revealed that the highest flame temperature value was found in a mixture of 50% ie 76.63oC and the lowest value was found in a mixture of 10% ie 52.37oC. The highest Ignition delay time is found in the mixture of 50%, namely 5.93 s and the lowest at 10%, which is 3.68 s. The highest burning rate in the mixture of 50% is 0.378 mm2 / s and the lowest at 10% is 0.256 mm2 / s. The highest fire height in the mixture of 10% 64.33 mm and the lowest at 50%, which is 42 mm.
