ABSTRACT

The problem that arises later is related to virtual property owned by online game players in the online game. This virtual property itself has value in the online game that is played, in practice, this virtual property can actually be traded in the real world using the real currency.
 
This research was conducted using research methods, namely, the type of normative legal research, problem approach using the Statute Approach and Conceptual Approach, the nature of this study is prescriptive analytical, the type of research Doctrinal Research with sources of primary legal material, legal material secondary, and tertiary legal materials obtained through library research (Library Research). Processing and analysis of legal materials is carried out qualitatively where all of these materials are collected in full, then analyzed and combined to be able to draw a conclusion about the issues discussed.
 
 
 
From the results of research and discussion of the issues raised at least some conclusions can be drawn. First, the virtual property of goods in virtual property refers to the EULA or the standard agreement initially provided by business actors and / or telecommunications service providers. Legal efforts given to consumers if the developer harms consumers is the settlement of consumer disputes through the Consumer Dispute Settlement Agency (BPSK), dispute resolution with immediate demands, and consumer dispute resolution through the Court. Second, the form of protection that can be given to consumers who have virtual objects (virtual property) in online games based on the 5 relevant principles in national development and Article 2 of the Law on Housing states, that consumer protection is based on benefits, justice and balance, security and consumer safety and legal certainty.
