The objective of this research is attempt to describe use song as a media
in teaching listening by english teachers at SMPN 24 Banjarmasin .
The research design was Descriptive. The researcher used Documentation
and interview. The Descriptive study is qualitative design, The data analysis that
was used were describing the instrument and data expected from the research ,
presenting factual data were found in the research and interpreting the data
expected (Suharsimi Arikunto, 1998: 240).
This research proceed in a week. The teachers have interviewed by the
researcher through interviews and documentation for more information weather in
the seventh grade until nineth grade.
The result of this research indicates that the teachers used song as a media
in teaching listening.
Based on the result, the use of song as a media in teaching listening make
students happy and enjoyable in process learning, and in suggested The teacher
should improve their quality in teaching english. The teacher need to be more
creative in maintaining a communicative siuation in english teaching and learning
process.
There were also factors that influence the teaching English process. The
educational background may help him/her to teach english. The teachers have
many experience in teaching english.
