The correlation method used in this study was to understand the relationship between students' reading interest and reading comprehension. The study population was Englishs Department students at Lambung Mangkurat University. 35 students registered. The instruments for this research are a questionnaire related to students' interest in reading and understanding reading. The results of data analysis showed that the r- calculated was higher than the r-table. The r- calculated value for this study was 0.535, while the r-table had a value of 0.05 and the level of freedom (df = n-2) of 0.2826. This means that there is a correlation between students' interest in reading and reading comprehension. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The researcher suggests that students and teachers can work together to increase students' interest in reading to achieve better performance not only in reading comprehension but also in learning English. Researchers hope that other researchers will carry out similar studies.
