This research aims to find out the accuracy of the sixth semester students’ translation in English phrasal verbs which are found on social media, Instagram’s official account. Since phrasal verb is one kind of idiomatic experssions which important to be understood, the accuracy in translating phrasal verbs is very important because it would affect to the whole meaning of a sentence.Therefore, this undergraduate thesis discusses about investigating the accuracy level of students’ translation in translating English phrasal verbs into Bahasa Indonesia.

The method of the research was a descriptive quantitativemethodwhich focused on the 35 students that already took translation class.The researcher gave a questionnaire to each of the students. There were 5 questions which was about basic translation skill. After that, the researcher took 10 students to do try out test to check the reliability and validity of the test. The rest of the 25 students was chosen as the data sample of the research. To get the data, the writer used a test as the instrument. The total number of items is 40 phrasal verbs. The collected data were analyzed based on Nababan (2012, p. 50) translation accuracy assessment; accurate, less accurate and inaccurate. It started from collecting the data, identifying, classifying, and finally describing the students’ translation.

From 1000 phrasal verbs, there were 50% or 594 were translated inaccurately by the students, around 59 phrasal verbs were not translated and being categorized as inaccurate. Meanwhile, 33% or 291 phrasal verbs were accurately translated. The lowest level of accuracy was less accurate translation which covers 17% or 115phrasal verbs. This result showed that the students translation accuracy of PVs found on Instagram’s official account are considered low.The students were hopely plan and determine an effort in studying phrasal verbs that are commonly use in social media.
