Purun tikus is plants that characteristic of swamps. The abundant availability of purun tikusplants is not only used traditionally but is also useful for industrial progress, so the right information is needed to build industrial progress. The purpose of this study was to identify purun tikus with segmentation of SPOT-6 Satellite Imagery and map the distribution and potential of purun tikus in the Hulu Sungai Utara Regency. Identification of purun tikus area was divided into two stages namely segmentation and classification of the Example Extraction Example Based process on ENVI software. Segmentation is done with parameter values ??of 30 (segmentation) and 90 (merge level). Classification is done using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm with spectral, texture and spatial aspects. The purun tikus and non purun tikus purse land cover classes were successfully extracted, with an Overall accuracy value of 97.31% and a Kappa Index of 0.92. Overall, SPOT-6 images are able to map very well based on accuracy testing with a confusion matrix of more than 85%. The results of the extraction of SPOT-6 acquisition data in 2019 obtained rat purun tikus area for Hulu Sungai Utara Regency is 24,903.22 hectares or equivalent to 30.38% of the total area of ??Hulu Sungai Utara Regency.
