ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the public's perception of the existence of Gunung Batu tourism objects and participation in the management of Gunung Batu attractions and to find out what strategies are appropriate to use in developing Gunung Batu attractions. The methods used in this study are porposive sampling and Accidental Sampling. The number of respondents in this study was 75 people. Porposive sampling was used for the Gunung Batu tourist attraction, Gunung Batu Village Officials and ASN at the Balangan Regency Tourism Office, while Accidental Sampling was used for visitors to the Gunung Batu tourist attraction. The results of this study indicate public perceptions of the plan to develop Gunung Batu tourism objects, 33 people or 44% strongly agree, 42 people or 56% agree, while public perceptions of active community participation in the management of Mount Batu Tourism Objects are known to 36 people or 48 % strongly agree, 34 people or 45.3% agree, and 5 people or 6.6% quite agree. As for the results of the weighting between strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, it is known that tourism objects are in quadrant 1, which means that it is very profitable to develop by using strengths to take advantage of opportunities.
