The aims of this research to describe problemsinfinding main idea in readingcomprehension English students batch 2019. Some students who still had difficulty understanding the reading, starting from looking for main ideas to finding conclusions from the reading because they have a problem to face a limited vocabulary to understand the text in reading. Another problem is students difficult to decide where is the main idea by the first or last sentence on the text.

The method of this study was qualitative research especially descriptive study. The technique of collecting data used interview to know the students problems on finding main idea in English reading comprehension showed that the students: limited by vocabulary, problems to find the main idea in English text, difficult to determine the main idea. From the interview, the researcher found that the students difficulties to acknowledge the words within the text and to retells the content of text. Next, the students did not understand the meaning of words and content of the text. To help them, by giving awareness to the students a decent reading comprehension is highly required. If not, students will find it difficult to develop the idea associated with their thesis or any scientific writings they make.

Eventually, the results of this study is that students are faced in reading comprehension by the lack of vocabulary within the reading process, finding main ideas, and lack of explanation of the material while learning to understand reading.
