Abstrak

Ikan gabus termasuk dalam jenis ikan perairan umum yang bernilai ekonomis, terutama di Kalimantan Selatan. Masyarakat suku Banjar sendiri sangat menyukai ikan ini, di mana dalam keseharian tidak bisa dipisahkan dari konsumsi ikan gabus. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui pengaruh media pemeliharaan yang salinitas berbeda serta salinitas terbaik terhadap glukosa darah dan diferensial leukosit ikan gabus. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 15 hari memakai Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 4 perlakuan dan 3 pengulangan. Tahapan penelitian terdiri dari persiapan media penelitian, aklimatisasi ikan pada media salinitas, pemeliharaan ikan, pengukuran glukosa darah, pengukuran diferensial leukosit, pengukuran kualitas air dan pengukuran pertumbuhan mutlak ikan. Hasil penelitian, yaitu salinitas berbeda dapat menurunkan persentase neutrofil dan meningkatkan persentase sel limfosit dan monosit dan mempengaruhi pertumbuhan bobot mutlak ikan gabus. Salinitas 0,5 ppt adalah yang terbaik untuk pemeliharaan ikan gabus dalam penelitian ini, karena kadar glukosa darah tidak mengalami kenaikan ataupun penurunan yang signifikan (stabil), persentase limfosit, monosit dan neutrofil tidak berbeda jauh dari perlakuan kontrol serta memberikan pertumbuhan bobot mutlak tertinggi.

Abstract

Snakehead fish is a freshwater fish that has economic value, especially in South Kalimantan. The people of the Banjar tribe really like this fish, which in their daily life cannot be separated from the consumption of snakehead fish. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of maintenance media with different salinity and the best salinity on blood glucose and leukocyte differential of snakehead fish. The study was conducted for 15 days using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. The research stages consisted of preparation of research media, fish acclimatization on salinity media, fish rearing, blood glucose measurement, leukocyte differential measurement, water quality measurement and absolute growth measurement of fish. The results showed that different salinity can reduce the percentage of neutrophils and increase the percentage of lymphocytes and monocytes and affect the growth of the absolute weight of snakehead fish. Salinity 0.5 ppt was the best for the rearing of snakehead fish in this study, because blood glucose levels did not increasing or decreasing significantly (stable), the percentages of lymphocytes, monocytes and neutrophils did not differ much from the control treatment and gave the highest absolute weight growth.
