This study aims to (1) describe the personality of the main character in TereLiye's novel of Selena, and describe the extrovert personality type that tends to be two types, which are sanguine and choleric. (2) find out the causal factors that affect the personality of the main character Selena as ambitious, and having the desire, talkative, and quickly making decisions that do not think about the negative impact.

The method of this research used qualitativeapproach, which is the literature sourced researchfrom books, magazines, documents and scientific journal in order to collect data. The type of data used were primary and secondary data. The basis of this study only focused on the research literature to look for the source of the data that is obtained, without having to collect the data directly to the field. So, the concept in research on the personality of the main character in the Selena novel, only relied on literature research technique. There are three main objectives of using literature research method, namely, 1. This research can only be answered through literature research. 2. Literature study is for its own stagebecause of preliminary research should be done. 3. Literature data is greatly be relied upon in the study.

The results of this study are (1). The personality of the main character Selena belongs to the extrovert part. Because it tends to include in two types of personalities, which are choleric and sanguine, an extrovert has a high enthusiasm for life in doing many things if they are in an interactive environment. These things are often shown as 1. Talk active, 2. Having lots of friends, 3. Open Behavior 4. Flexible 5. Optimistic 6. Active 7. Quickly making decisions 8. Confident (2). Based on the causal factors that affect the personality of the main character Selena, can be described as follows 1. Family or lineage is very influential on Selena's personality "your uncle Raf who lives in Tishri city will take care of you, so just go, meet him as mother asked". 2. The environment also affects the personality of the main character, that makes her likes to socialize; the support of the closest people is also very important for her psychology. This is shown in the Tishri city environment which is so modern and luxurious, all the facilities there fly by themselves, supporting Selena's expertise "your memory is as strong as water lines in distant rivers". 3. Education also plays a role in shaping the personality of the main character Selena, which makes her likes to be active in the academy environment and often does physical exercise with her friends. “I turn around and look at him this time in the more relaxed situation and not in the fight, I can focus on him better.Heis tall, and handsome, his jaw is firm, the line of his face has character, his hair black is bushy fronds”.
