The questionnaires consist of closed-ended questions using a Likert scale, and questions given in the interviews are open-ended questions. Based on the study, the findings revealed student motivation can be divided into intrinsic and extrinsic. It can be said that students are more extrinsically motivated than intrinsically. In terms of intrinsic motivation, students generally have the motivation to study independently, use their free time to review learning materials, and have no interference in motivation during different learning circumstances. In terms of extrinsic motivation, students notice that teaching methods in a class are necessary to comprehend learning material, a few students realized that they want to get a good examination score, they want to pursue their education abroad, and a few of them are motivated because the culture and values while learning English. As a suggestion, applying learning motivation can encourage students to experience learning efficiently. Discussing subject matter that is misunderstood with colleagues may also help increase enthusiasm for learning. Moreover, lecturers are pioneers in the process of teaching and learning activities, and utilizing the facilities provided by the institution for learning will be benevolent. Furthermore, to increase students' motivation in learning, lecturers may conduct the class more effectively so all students can be engaged.
