PERANAN TIPE KEPRIBADIAN AGREEABLENESS TERHADAP BYSTANDER DEFENDER OF THE CYBERVICTIM ONLINE PERUNDUNGAN SIBER PADA REMAJA PENGGUNA MEDIA SOSIAL DI MARTAPURA

Penggunaan internet dan media sosial yang meningkat memicu perundungan siber di kalangan remaja. Bystander defender of the cybervictim online (bystander yang membela korban) berpotensi mengurangi peristiwa perundungan siber, tetapi studi mengenai faktor yang mempengaruhinya relatif baru dan perlu diteliti lebih lanjut. Tipe kepribadian agreeableness telah dikonfirmasi berhubungan positif dengan perilaku defender of the cybervictim online karena memiliki kecenderungan empati dan kepekaan terhadap orang lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan tipe kepribadian agreeableness terhadap bystander defender of the cybervictim online perundungan siber pada remaja pengguna media sosial di Martapura. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional, sampel penelitian sebanyak 173 remaja akhir usia 16-18 tahun dengan tingkat pendidikan SMA di Martapura, pernah menyaksikan perundungan siber dan memiliki media sosial. Tipe kepribadian agreeableness diukur menggunakan IPIP-BFM-25danbystander defender of the cybervictim online diukur menggunakanskala Cyberbullying Bystander Scale. Hasil analisis regresi linier sederhana menunjukkan tipe kepribadian agreeableness memiliki peranan yang signifikan terhadap bystander defender of the cybervictim online (p=0,000, p<0,05) dengan kontribusi sebesar 7%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa remaja akhir dengan tipe kepribadian agreeableness tinggi cenderung berperan sebagai bystander defender of the cybervictim online dengan tingkat sedang.

THE ROLE OF AGREEABLENESS PERSONALITY TRAIT IN BYSTANDER-DEFENDER OF THE CYBERVICTIM ONLINE DUE TO CYBERBULLYING AMONG ADOLESCENT SOCIAL MEDIA USERS IN MARTAPURA

The increasing use of the internet and social media triggers cyberbullying among adolescents. Bystander-defender of the cybervictim online has potential to reduce cyberbullying incidents, but studies on the factors influencing the behavior are relatively new and need further research. The agreeableness personality trait has been confirmed to be positively related to the defender behavior of the cybervictim online because it has a tendency to be empathetic and sensitive to others. This study aims to investigate the role of agreeableness personality trait in bystander-defender of the cybervictim online due to cyberbullying among adolescent social media users in Martapura. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed, and the sample was 173 late adolescents aged 16-18 years with a high school education level in Martapura, who witnessed cyberbullying and had social media. The measurement instruments included the IPIP-BFM-25 and the Cyberbullying Bystander Scale. The results of the simple linear regression analysis showed that the agreeableness personality trait had a significant role in bystander-defender of the cybervictim online (p = 0.000, p <0.05) with a contribution of 7%. The results indicate that late adolescents with a high agreeableness personality trait tend to act as bystander-defenders of the cybervictim in a moderate level.
