This research is intended to discover what methods are generally used by ELESP students of Lambung Mangkurat University in translating online news article posted BBC news from English into Indonesia. The research employed a descriptive-qualitative method by analyzing collected documents containing the results of students’ translation process when translating online news article in English into Indonesia. After conducting the research some findings are acquired and is shown that there are three methods mainly used by students to translate online news article. Those methods are word-to-word translation, literal translation, and communicative translation. It is also revealed that students used these methods because of their lack of vocabularies, which caused them to seek help from translation engines in order to understand the complicated words and results in good translation results.
