Key words: Game, Warming-Up, Young Learners, Games as Warming-Up.

Warming-up is a crucial stage in teaching and learning process. The students will feel relaxed, comfortable, have their mood for learning. They will also be focused if warming-up activity is implemented in a right way, especially when the teacher faces the young learners with its characteristics.

This research is aimed to find out the implementation of games as warming-up activities in the classroom and the teachers’ difficulties in implementing those games at Yayasan Bina Bakat Agaphe Banjarmasin. This research is designed in the form of descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research are Children-Children Conversation Classes at Yayasan Bina Bakat Agaphe Banjarmasin. The purposive sampling technique is used in this research. Observation and interview were employed to collect the data.

Based on the findings on the interview and observations that described in the previous chapter, it can be concluded that the implementation of games as warming-up activities in the classroom is quite good. The result of this research also shows that there are some difficulties in the game implementation. First, the teachers were not aware of several things that should be considered before implementing games which are giving clear instructions and rules and giving a demonstration of the game. Second, a few teachers still have difficulty in providing more intense and meaningful practice of a language in a game. Third, the teachers had less effort to create unenthusiastic students become enthusiastic in a game.

All in all, it is suggested that teachers should be aware of things that should be considered before implementing the games. Then, they have to be creative in developing the game, so the game could give some benefits to the students by providing more intense and meaningful practice of the language. Furthermore, they should have a method to engage unenthusiastic students in the game.
