Lake Rano, located in Donggala Regency, has great potential for sustainable tourism development because it has the potential to preserve the wealth of biological natural resources of flora, fauna, and ecosystems that exist and avoid negative impacts on the surrounding nature.

Ecotourism development at Lake Rano must involve the participation of local communities becauselocal people are the first to feeltheimpact ofecotourism developmentatLake Rano.Based on the above conditions, Ecotourism is the type of alternative tourism developed at Lake Rano.

This research was conducted for three months, from September to December 2023, in Rano Village, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. It aims to determine the Development Strategy of Lake Rano Ecotourism Based on Local Community Wisdom in Balaesang Tanjung District, Donggala Regency. Data was collected through field surveys, observations, and interviews using a list of questions (questionnaires), documentation and literature. Data analysis using SWOT analysis to determine the Development Strategy of Lake Rano Ecotourism Based on Local CommunityWisdominBalaesangTanjungDistrict,DonggalaRegency.Samplinginthisstudy was done by using purposive sampling techniques with asmany as 10 local people, while the number of visitor respondents using accidental sampling technique was as many as 10 people, and the number of respondents of related government agencies was as many as 5 people.

The general strategy applied to Lake Rano Ecotourism in Balaesang Tanjung District, Donggala Regency is a conservation strategy through vertical integration from upstream to downstream for its development. Activities must refer to everything needed to facilitate tourists visitingtheecotourismsite,namelyprovidingtouristinfrastructureandoptimalserviceserviceswhen tourists visit Lake Rano Ecotourism in Balaesang Tanjung District, Donggala Regency.

Alternative strategies for developing Rano Lake Ecotourism in Balaesang Tanjung District, Donggala Regency, are as follows: development of ecotourism products, increasing the security of ecotourism development, creating basic infrastructure and facilities supporting tourism services for ecotourism, developing tourism institutions and developing human resources for the Rano Lake Ecotourism area in Balaesang Tanjung District, Donggala Regency.
